Two German born Nigerian players who are reportedly very high on the wishlist of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr came up against each other when Fortuna Duesseldorf drew 2-2 against Hannover 96 in the 2. Bundesliga.
The Franco-German coach of Nigeria Rohr has been scouting Europe for players born abroad to Nigerian parents, and from his homeland in Germany, his sight is firmly on two promising talents.
Kevin Akpoguma of Fortuna Dusseldorf and Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee of 1860 Munich are two players Rohr is keen on luring to opt for Nigeria ahead of Germany.
German youth international Akpoguma was on for the entire duration of the game for Fortuna Duesseldorf, his 13th appearance of the season for the team where he is on loan from Bundesliga side Hoffeinheim.
Sarenren-Bazee was also on for Hannover 96, and put in a good shift playing from the wings before he was substituted three minutes from full time, after they were reduced to ten men following the sending off of Felipe.
Both players are born to Nigerian parents in Germany, but while Akpoguma has reiterated his desires to continue representing Germany where he is a youth international, Sarenren-Bazee is well in line to play for Nigeria.
