The Nigerian duo of hot in demand forward Henry Onyekuru and midfielder cum defender Anthony Bassey were both on target as Eupen played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Westerlo in a Belgian league game.
Bassey helped Eupen take a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 20th minute, Westerlo levelled scores to 2-2 few minutes later. But Onyekuru scored his sixth goal of the season in the 47th minute to give his team a 3-2 lead.
However seven minutes later his goal was cancelled out, and Westerlo hanged on to pick a point despite twice going behind even though they scored the first goal of the game.
Heavily linked with a move to CSKA Moscow, the forward has been ever present for newly promoted Eupen this season, operating from the left side of the team’s attack.
On his part Bassey, a midfielder by trade, but can also play at right back has so far made 13 appearances in the league but the goal against Westerlo was his first for the season.
