The transfer of highly rated Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg made headline last year, as the soon to be 18 year old blew admirers away with a stunning performance at the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile.
Osimhen finished as top scorer at the Championship with the all conquering Nigerian team coasting to the title in swashbuckling style. Shortly after the tournament he was linked with a move to so many top European sides.
After series of speculations German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg won the race to sign the coveted forward, but the true cost of his transfer from Nigerian side Ultimate Strikers Academy was kept secret.
However Owngoalnigeria.com can authoritatively reveal that, when the forward turns 18 on the 29th of December, his nursery team in Nigeria will smile home with a transfer fee of 3.5 million euros from German side Wolfsburg.
The fee makes him one of the most expensive players signed directly from a nursery team in Africa to a top European team, although the transfer of his U-17 teammate Kelechi Nwakali to Arsenal is considerably higher.
