Owngoalnigeria.com understands that English Premier League side are currently exploring ways to sign free scoring Nigerian forward Olarenwaju Kayode from Austrian side Austria Wien.

We gathered they want to be sure he would be granted a work permit by the Home Office in England before formally launching a bid for the 23 year old, who doesn’t qualify for a work permit at the moment.

Kayode is yet to play for Nigeria at senior level despite playing at U-17 and 20 levels, a situation which makes him ineligible for a work permit base on international appearances.

The former Asec Mimosa forward has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season, a tally that makes him the highest goal scorer among Nigerian players in Europe.

He is tied to Europa League campaigners Austria Wien till the summer of 2018.
