Out of favour Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is excited by the project of French side Olympique Marseille according to sources close to the French side.
Mikel reportedly met with President and new owner of the team Frank Mccourt in a meeting put reportedly organised by the Sporting Director of the team Andoni Zubizaretta.
The discussions according to several french sources was positive and the 29 year old voiced out his excitement about the project of the club, in their bid to regain their lost glory.
However Mikel asked to be given more days before he can make up his mind about their offer. A source even claimed that the Nigerian who has been linked with a move to the Middle East and China still wants to stay in Europe and play at the highest level.
His wages could be a stumbling block to Marseille’s bid to snap him up in the coming days, but the lure of playing in a top flight league before leading Nigeria to the World Cup 2018 as captain could swing his thoughts in their direction.
