Nigeria Rio 2016 Ace Make Under The Radar Move To Moroccan Side Ittihad Khemisset


A member of the Bronze winning Nigeria Olympic team of Rio 2016 Saliu Popoola has left French side Metz for Moroccan side Ittihad Khemisset.


Popoola returned to Metz this summer after a two year loan spell with second division Belgian side Seraing, but checks can reveal that the pint sized midfield has since left for Morocco.

According to reports gathered by our editorial team he left for the Moroccan side on the 19th of November 2016 following the mutual termination of his agreement with Ligue 1 side Metz in the month of September last year.

22 year old Popoola moved to Europe in 2012 from 36 Lions Fc of Jos to Standard Liege of Belgium, before joining French side Metz where he made played games for their youth teams before going on loan to Belgium.

He was a bit part player of the Nigerian team at the Rio 2016 Olympics but he still ended up making five appearances for Nigeria raking up a total of 92 minutes in the process.
