Relatively unknown Nigerian shot stopper David Nwokolor, who is reportedly set to be called up to the senior Nigeria national team has a statistic that is worth admiring.


Nwokolor who keeps goal for Bosnian top division side NK Vitez, where he is on loan from top division Croatian side HNK Rijeka has so far earned the tag “Africa Buffon” for his performances.

So have he has made the matchday squad 14 times, and started 12 games in what is his second season as a professional football after spending time on loan at Croatian second division NK Sibenik.

He is presently seven games short of his total appearances last season for Sibenik, midway through the league in Bosnia, and he presently boast of 8 clean sheets.

The 21 year old is set to return back to league action at the end of February, when the league resumes in Serbia for the second phase, and reports has it that he could make his debut for Nigeria in March.
