The future of Chidiebere Nwakali at Manchester City is tied to his performance at his new loan side Sogndal, where he will spend the rest of the season.
Nwakali joined Sogndal after impressing while on loan to fellow Norwegian side IK Start, making 22 appearances in the league, with two goals to his name as well.
His performances while with Start failed to convince the technical staff of Manchester City, who still feel that he still has some growing up to do in certain areas of his game before given the chance to push for a spot in the main team.
However at the end of this season, his contract will have 12 months to run and the club he joined in 2014 alongside Kelechi Iheanacho are yet to open talks with him over an extension.
They will evaluate him in August when his loan with Sogndal comes to an end before deciding on offering him an extension or letting him leave the club.
