Highly rated Nigerian teen wonder Chidera Ejike popularly referred to as “Nigerian Iniesta” is presently in Norway for trials with Valerenga.
The soon to be 18 year old was a target for Manchester City few years ago but while they dithered in offering him a chance to train with their youth team, Liverpool offered him a two week trial.
Ejike was at Liverpool for two weeks alongside three other Nigerian but issues surrounding work permit and possible loan destination cost him a deal, despite impressing the handlers of the team.
He ended last year playing for Abuja based Nigeria second division side Supreme Court FC, but joined Nigeria Professional League side Gombe United just before the start of the season.
At Gombe United, the fair skinned, fleet footed forward has been ever present for the North East team, and even won the Most Valuable Player of the Nigeria National League Champion of Champions championship.
Documentations cost him a spot at the Nigeria U-17 team that won the last U-17 World Cup in Chile, and same issue stopped him from turning out for the 2016 team that failed to qualify for the Africa Youth Championship.
