Manager of Manchester City Pep Guardiola has joined captain of the Super Eagles John Obi Mikel in praising the professional attitude of Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho has been frozen out of the first team set up by manager Pep Guardiola following the emergence of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, but Mikel in a chat revealed Iheanacho’s professionalism will see him regain his spot in the team.

” Iheanacho will become a better player after this phase, he is a strong lad, a very positive minded being and level headed. He will regain his spot in the team, he just have to keep on working hard in training and wait for his chance, when it comes I know he won’t disappoint.

” Every player wants to play and when you are not getting into the matchday squad it can be so discouraging. But I have learnt to always pick the positives from all situation”, Mikel told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Guardiola toed the same line yesterday when speaking about the injury to Jesus named the Nigerian forward among players, who have shown a high level of professionalism despite the fact that they have not been getting games.
