The draws for the round of 16 in the Europa League has been made and the Gent, home to four Nigerian players have been drawn against Genk.

The game between Gent and Genk will be a local derby as both teams are based in Belgium, more importantly for Nigerians is the fact that as many as four Nigerians could take part in the clash.

Anderson Esiti, Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu have all played for Gent in the Europa League this season, but Rabiu Ibrahim is yet to hit full fitness hence his lack of action in the tournament while William Troost-Ekong wasn’t registered by the club.

Gent pulled through to the round of 16 after beating English side Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 on aggregate following a 2-2 draw at Wembley last night.

Genk where former Super Eagles ace Wilfred Ndidi use to play before his transfer to Leicester City secured their spot in the round of 16 at the expense of Romanian side Astra Giurgiu following a 3-2 aggregate win.
