The Super Eagles line up for tonight’s friendly game against Senegal has been released by coach Gernot Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Rohr named Kenneth Omeruo to start at right back ahead of Dutch-Nigerian full back Tyroone Ebuehi who was called up by the German coach to alleviate the problematic right back issue of the team, however Omeruo who is originally a centre back will start against the Senegalese.
The back four remained unchanged from the team that defeated Algeria 3-1 in the Super Eagles last World Cup 2018 qualifiers, with Leon Balogun and William Troost Ekong in central defence while Elderson Echiejile retains his position at left back.
Arsenal teen star Alex Iwobi was handed the number ten role by coach Gernot Rohr as exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, and he will play behind the main striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who will be flanked by captain Ahmed Musa on the right and Moses Simon on the left.
As at the time of filing in this report, Rohr is yet to decide who will start in goal between Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi with first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme ruled out through a hamstring injury.
A decision on who will start will be made known by the coaches after the team’s technical meeting which will take place in few minutes time.
