Former Super Eagles Captain and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is staying away from the team due to issues with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) according to coach of the team Gernot Rohr.
Rohr has long voiced his desires to see the shot stopper return to the team following his fine showing for Lille of France and the fitness issues of current first choice Carl Ikeme, but the Franco- German coach has so far failed in his bid to bring the fans favourite out of retirement from international football .
Enyeama quit the team after a row with former coach Sunday Oliseh , who stripped him off his role as captain of the team, but according to Rohr his main issue lies with someone in the NFF.
” The door is open for Vincent Enyeama in the national team . I think he had a problem with the federation, so he wanted someone to call him before coming. They called him or they didn’t reach him I don’t know”, Rohr told Tomiwababalola.com.
” We have three goalkeppers at the moment but we will welcome everybody who will respect our work rate, solidarity, humility and not expect special favors. So the door is opened also to Enyeama “.
