It took Super Eagles of Nigeria latest addition Ola Aina 45 minutes to impress coach of the team Gernot Rohr during the Eagles training session in London.
Aina trained with the Nigerian team for the first time last month, when they held a camp in London, and featured in a test game played among the players after the cancellation of a friendly game with Burkina Faso.
The Chelsea full back was up against Isacc Success, who had made a big impression on Rohr following his performances in a friendly game against Senegal few days before the session.
However Rohr was surprised as the Watford man who is known for his pace, tricks and direct approach failed to trouble Aina, who was up against him as the right back of his team.
Olarenwaju Kayode also got no change out of the young Chelsea defender, when he moved to the right. Rohr nodded his head in approval after the first 45 minutes of the session which Aina not only demonstrated his defensive side but also his ability to join the attack.
He also added pace to the back line and covered up for the central defense duo of William Troost Ekong and Leon Balogun in counter attack situations. His performances won Rohr over as the coach views him as a solution to the right back problems of the team.
