Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Moses Simon is leading two other Nigerian players in the race to be crowned Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Belgian club Gent.

Moses is nominated alongside his Nigerian compatriot Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu for the prestigious award, which is given out in memory of Jean -Claude Bouvy after two rounds of votings to the player with the highest vote.

However he is facing stiff competition from the likes of Yuya Kubo, Jeremy Perbet, Lovre Kalinic, Samuel Gigot, Stefan Mitrovic, Rami Gershon and last year winner Nana Asare.

The forward is finishing the season on a strong note after a slow start to the season, but he is now set for a spell on the sideline after injuring his hamstring before their game this weekend against KVV Oostende.
