Austria Wien forward Olarenwaju Kayode has dismissed reports that he has been dropped from the Super Eagles squad for their friendly game against Corsica later in the month.
The forward who has 21 goals for Austria Wien is presently the top scorer among Nigerian players in Europe. His form lead to a call up to the Nigerian team, making his debut in the game against Senegal in London.
23 year old Kayode is rumoured to be among the players dropped by the manager but the player has informed Owngoalnigeria.com through his close associate that he is in the squad for the game.
” Kayode got his invitation for the game via mail last week, and spoke with the coach about a convenient date with him since the league in Austria will still be on when the camp opens”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Rohr suggested two dates to him and he picked 29th which by then the game would have been played, and the date is also just a day after the conclusion of the league in Austria.
” So in a nutshell he has been granted permission by Rohr to miss the Corsica game but will be in camp ahead of the game against South Africa”.
