FC Porto Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem says he is happy learning from established senior Nigeria national team defenders like Leon Balogun of Mainz 05.
While responding to questions on his recent invitation to the senior national team of Nigeria for their training camp in France, Awaziem says he is hopeful of making his debut for Nigeria against Corsica.
The Eagles will play Corsica in a friendly game on the 26th of May, a game which coach Gernot Rohr has revealed will help him properly assess some young players in the team.
Awaziem is yet to be capped by Nigeria at senior level but the 20 year old FC Porto forward says he has learnt a lot from the various training drills and session he has had with the team.
” I’ve learnt a lot from almost everybody in camp, I’m very willing to learn and eager to be like the senior players in the team. The family atmosphere makes learning easy”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Leon Balogun style of play has impressed me the most, and I must say I have learnt a lot from his way of tackling, going into area duels and also passing out from the back. His calmness is another area I see in him that I truly want to emulate “.
