Super Eagles forward Leon Balogun was once again among the stand out performers for Mainz 05 as they recovered from a two goal deficit to beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-2.
Balogun has regained his starting spot in the team after a slow start to the year 2017, no thanks to injuries and fitness issues which cost him his spot in the team, but he has started their last two games.
Last weekend he started and played the entire duration of their 0-0 draw against Hamburg, and his performances earned him another starting spot against Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend.
The Nigeria national team defender was his usual calm self, sniffing out potential threats with well timed tackles and interceptions, which frustrated Eintracht Frankfurt from putting the game to bed when they raced into a two goal lead after 50 minutes.
His return to form will not doubt gladden the heart of the national team coach of Nigeria Gernot Rohr who has made the defender the leader in his defence alongside William Troost-Ekong in the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers.
