Out of favour Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho is a prime target for West Ham United this summer, who are hoping to use his close friend Pablo Zabaleta to lure him.
Zabaleta is expected to join West Ham following his departure from Manchester City after nine years at the club, and they are banking on him in their bid to sign Iheanacho.
Iheanacho has a very good relationship with the Argentine who helped the 20 year old settled into the first team upon his arrival at the club two years ago.
A source close to West Ham revealed they have already sounded out Zabaleta to convince Iheanacho to join them ahead of Everton and Borussia Dortmund.
“West Ham think Zaba can help get Kele to the club. They know each other pretty well.
“Zaba took the young lad under his wing during their time at the Etihad and they have a good relationship.
“Everton have also shown interest in him but West Ham look like they can blow them out of the water.
“They have learnt how little in comparison he earns and want to double the wages he currently is on at present.”
