The coach of Arsenal Arsene Wenger has revealed the club will only sign three players this summer to beef up the team in areas where he feels they need little more quality ahead of the start of next season.
Wenger has been heavily linked with a move for Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru who plays for Belgium side KAS Eupen, with a fee in the region of £7m reportedly agreed for his signing this summer.
Arsenal fans are however divided over the possible signing of the 19 year old Nigerian with most fans criticising the manager for going for a player who isn’t well known and feared all round Europe.
During an interview with BeIN Sport, Wenger was asked if Arsenal fans should expect a big name signing but the manager reacted by asking the reporter if he likes Rob Holding.
The manager who recently signed a new two year deal to remain at the club went further by explaining how fans should rate players based on their qualities and not on their price tag, just like the case of Holding.
Holding was signed by Wenger from Championship side Bolton Wanderers even though they were relegated to League one, but the defender emerged as one of the surprise package for Arsenal towards the end of the recently concluded season.
His statement means he could yet go for Onyekuru if the forward proves to fall within the bracket of players who Wenger feels have quality despite their low price tag as he particularly referred to players under the age of 20.
