Manager of Arsenal Arsene Wenger has dashed the hopes of 20 year old Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru of KAS Eupen who has been heavily linked with a move to the English giants in recent weeks.
Onyekuru has severally confirmed his dream to play for Arsenal, and he was thought to have gotten his dream come true last month when reports broke out that Arsenal have agreed a fee for his transfer with Eupen.
He was even due for a medical after the international break according to one of his representative, but it has now emerged that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger vetoed the proposed transfer.
Voetbal24.be reports Onyekuru was rejected as a summer signing by Wenger when he was proposed to the Arsenal manager , with the manager keen on assessing him further for a possible move in January of 2018.
The scorer of 24 goals will however depart Eupen this summer with West Ham now leading other English clubs in the race to sign the forward who has one senior cap for Nigeria, picked up in the 3-0 thrashing of Togo.
