FC Porto have summoned recently capped Nigeria international defender Chidozie Awaziem to Portugal despite his impending departure to Nantes of France.
Awaziem will join the french side on a season long loan deal, but Porto are insisting on him resuming with them in Portugal before he leaves for the French side next month.
” He (Awaziem) will leave Nigeria on Thursday for Portugal, Porto want him around for a while before his move to Nantes. There are still some paper works to be done regarding the move as well”, his intermediary Babawo Mohammed told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Porto were forced to released the defender as part of the deal that helped them capture Nantes coach Sergio Conceiao, but they failed to yield in to the request of the team who wanted an option to buy him at the end of his loan spell.
He signed a five year deal with FC Porto when he made his breakthrough at the club two seasons ago,and his deal currently has a buy out clause of €20m, which Porto are not willing to reduce despite interest from teams.
