West Ham United were beaten to the signature of KAS Eupen Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru by Everton despite the Hammers making the first step to snap him up.

The London based side held talks with the player and his representative but they failed to agree a deal with his clubside Eupen not based on the fee, but on the mode of payment.

While Eupen want a chunk of the transfer fee paid upfront, West Ham wanted to pay the fee in three different instalment, while Everton will pay around
75% of the agreed transfer fee with the remaining part of it set to be paid in January.

Meanwhile PSG are so unhappy with the striker and his representative as he had medicals in Paris on Wednesday with the French side, who used their close relationship with the Qatar owners of‎ Eupen to their advantage.

However, while PSG wanted him to be sent on loan to a low team in the French Ligue 1, Everton beat them to his signing by reaching an agreement with Anderlecht to send him on loan, using Eupen negotiator Mogi Bayat relationship with president of Anderlecht to reach a quick agreement.

Onyekuru also couldn’t say no to the move to Everton as his dream has always been to play in England, and he knows even though he isn’t getting it now, he will certainly get it not summer, unlike at PSG where his loan could be extended.
