Super Eagles deputy captain Ogenyi Onazi says he is yet to terminate his contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor despite his agent statement that his client has severed ties with the team.
Former Nigeria international defender Stephen Ayodele Makinwa who manages the affair of the 24 year old revealed plans are in motion for the immediate cancellation of the contract agreement Onazi has with Trabzonspor, following a breach on the part of the Turkish side.
Makinwa claimed Onazi has not been paid for three months by the team and despite several reminders to the club to pay up what they are owing his client, they refused to oblige. A situation which has made him reached out to FIFA to cancel his contract with the terms as stipulated by the laws governing none payment of salaries to a football player for three months.
However in a WhatsApp chat leaked on social media, Onazi confirmed his deal is yet to be terminated and talks are ongoing with the president of the team to find an amicable solution to the logjam.
Last season he made 32 appearances for the team in the league in what was his debut season in Turkey following his move from Serie A side Lazio during the summer of the 2016/2017 season.
