Official – Ex Flying Eagles Captain Ajagun Unveiled By Belgium Club Kortrijk

‎As exclusively reported by this portal three weeks ago former Nigeria U-20 captain Abduljelil Ajagun has joined Belgium side Kortrijk on a two year deal with the option of a further year, the club has announced.

The Kaduna born midfielder spent last season on loan to Dutch side Roda JC, where he helped them maintain their top flight status before returning back to his parent owners Greek side Panathinaikos.

Ajagun was allowed to go on a free ‎transfer by Panathinaikos despite still having one more year to run on his deal with the Greek side he joined in 2013 from Nigeria league side Dolphins now known as Rivers United.

Last season he made ‎31 league appearances for Roda and found the back of the net 5 times, more crucially in games when they needed victories to ease their relegation worries at the tail end of last season.

He will dorn jersey number 8 at the club where the presence of his former manager at Panathinaikos Yannis Anastasiou swayed him to despite a late interest from fellow Belgium side Genk.
