29 year old Nigerian defender Elderson Echiejile is close to bringing his nightmarish spell at French Ligue 1 side Monaco to an end as he is closing in on a move to Turkish side Sivasspor.
Echiejile is locked in talks with the Turkish side, who are also getting positive response from Monaco where the player is deemed surplus to requirements by coach Leonardo Jardim.
Last season he endured two unhappy spells away from the club to Belgium side Standard Liege and Spanish side Sporting Gijon respectively where he managed a combined total of nine league appearances for both teams.
He has struggled to pin down a regular shirt at Monaco since his move to the club from Sporting Braga in 2014, with his best spell coming in the 2015/2016 season where he made 20 league appearances.
His imminent transfer to Sivasspor will no doubt help him keep a hold of his position in the senior national team of Nigeria where his spot is one of the areas coach of the senior national team of Nigeria is looking to strengthen.
