Gent loanee Peter Olayinka is proving to be a shrewd acquisition for Zulte Waregem as he extended his scoring streak for his new side with a hat-trick in their latest pre season game.
Olayinka was signed by Belgian side Gent last summer from Albania outfit Skenderbreu but a nasty injury picked up in training made him missed six months of the season, and he was subsequently loaned out to Czech side Dukla Praha upon his return.
He didn’t quite light it up at the Czech side but he got the game time he needed to get his sharpness back following his injury enforced absence, as since joining Zulte Waregem last month he has found the back of the net six times in three games.
The former Nigeria U-23 invitee fired a hat-trick in their 7-1 thrashing of KSV Roeselare in a pre season fixture, the third game in a role he is finding the back of the net.
His goals came in the 11th, 23rd and 50th minute of the game, which also had two other Nigerians in Aliko Bala and Kingsley Madu turning up for the Europa League side, with Madu and Olayinka on from the start while Bala was introduced as a substitute.
