Highly rated Nigerian forward Theophilus Solomon has agreed a one year loan deal with Gent of Belgium much to the disappointment of fellow Belgium league side Lokeren who thought they had a deal for the forward wrapped up.
Solomon was originally billed to join Lokeren in a swap deal which will see Mario Tricinovic of Lokeren move in the opposite direction to Rijeka, but the forward who spent last season on loan to Croatian side Istra sensationally turned down the move.
Voted among the best 25 players in the Croatian league last season, news of his potential move was first leaked by KAA Gent Nieuws on their twitter handle , before our editorial team confirmed a deal in principle have been agreed between Gent and Rijeka for his transfer.
