Gent of Belgium forward Moses Simon has reacted to news circulated on social media that he has agreed to join French side Olympique Lyon after a transfer fee in the region of €7.5m was paid for his services.
News broke out from sources in France about Simon moving to Lyon, and it was immediately picked up by various news outlet in Belgium, France and Nigeria.
Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com that although he might yet leave Gent this summer, rumours of a move away from the team to Lyon is not true, and he added he won’t be sad if he remains at Gent.
” It’s not true, I’m still at Gent but for how long? I honestly don’t know. I will not be disappointed if I remain here because I am well loved and respected by the coaches and club fans”, Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com.
“I’m 100% focused on helping Gent do well next season, hence my dedication to training is still the same like the first day I came here. We have a big season ahead but we have the squad to cope”.
