FC Porto of Portugal Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu was rated as one of the best players on parade for the team in their 5-0 win over fellow Portuguese side Rio Ave in a pre season friendly.
The game which was played out like a training game was the second game in a role Mikel is playing for the team as they step up their preparations for the start of a new season in Portugal, where Mikel is expected to play in a pivotal role in their quest for honours.
23 year old Mikel was given the chance to relaunch his career at the Portuguese side after impressing for fellow Portuguese side Victoria Setubal where he spent last season on loan.
Back at Porto, new coach of the Sergio Conceciao appears to have settled for the Nigerian as a replacement for departed midfielder Rueben Neves who left for English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mikel will be hoping to break into the starting line up of the team as it will enhance his chances of making the Nigerian team to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, already he has one cap to his name picked up under present coach Gernot Rohr in the friendly game against Togo.
