Newly promoted German Bundesliga side Hannover 96 have suffered a setback in their preparations for the start of the season after their German-Nigerian forward Joel Noah Sarenren Bazee limped off injured during today’s session.
Around 45 minutes into Hannover 96 training session, Bazee went off injured with what looked like an injury to his thigh, and he has to be driven out of the training ground in a golf car.
Bazee only recently returned to full training after injuries restricted him to just 13 games last season as Hannover 96 secured a return to the Bundesliga. Despite his fitness issues the club offered him an extension to his contract, which he signed, committing himself to the team till the summer of 2021.
His injury will no doubt troubled the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria, who was hoping he will have the service of the 20 year old for the back to back World Cup 2018 Qualifiers game against Cameroon in September.
Since pledging his international future to Nigeria ahead of Germany, the forward who is comfortable as a winger on either flanks or behind the main striker is yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles no thanks to the various injury issues he has been battling.
He already has in his possession a Nigerian passport, which means his fitness issue is the only reason why his switch to Nigeria has not resulted in his debut for the senior national team of Nigeria.
