Portuguese top division side CD Feirense have cleared the way for Nigerian goalkeeper Dele Alampasu to be first choice at the club following the sale of first choice goalkeeper Vana to FC Porto.
Vana moved to Porto for a fee in the region of €1m, leaving the duo of Dele Alampasu and Ivo Eichman as the two goalkeepers with the senior squad of the modest Portuguese side.
The departure of Vana could be the beginning of Alampasu’s career at the club, but he faces competition from 19 year old Eichman, who progressed through the ranks of Feirense to the first team.
Last season, 20 year old Alampasu played 13 games for Cesarense where he spent the season on loan. His performances earned him a contract extension at the club following the expiration of his previous deal.
There’s still the option of the team signing another goalkeeper to replace the vastly experienced Vana who was last season listed by UEFA as one of the revelation of the season in the Portuguese league.
