Wolfsburg edged a strongly contested pre season game against third division German League side Hansa Rostock winning the tie 1- 0 thanks to a goal from their new signing Kaylen Hinds.
Hinds who joined the team last week was handed his debut by coach Andries Jonker who handled the 19 year old during his time as Arsenal youth team coach, and the forward didn’t disappoint as he fired home the only goal of the game in the 41st minute.
Highly rated Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen had the ball in the back of the net in the 65th minute, but the goal was correctly ruled out as the forward strayed marginally offside before burying his effort.
The disallowed goal came just three minutes after he was introduced in place of celebrated German striker Mario Gomez, a signal to the pointer that he is being groomed to replace the veteran in the future.
Wolfsburg’s next pre season will be on Saturday against Dynamo Dresden before leaving their camp in Switzerland for Klosterpforte Marienfeld on Monday.
