Two players eligible for the senior national team of Nigeria were on opposite flanks for Chelsea in their 2-3 pre season loss to German Champions Bayern Munich.

Chelsea were three goals down in the opening exchange but a goal from Mikel Alonso set them on the road to recovery, but despite a late strike from Mitchy Batshuayi, Bayern hanged on to claim a 3-2 win over the Premier League defending champions.

Victor Moses started the game as a right wingback for the Blues, a role he has made his sole preserve since coach Antonio Conte converted him from his initial role as a winger from either flanks.

Moses however shifted flanks in the second half with Anglo Nigerian Fikayo Tomori taking his spot as a right wingback, and the defender who is primarily a centre back distinguished himself for the duration he was on the pitch.

However it was Moses’s performance as a left wing back that really caught the eyes, as he was too much to handle for the Bayern side when he switched to the left flank following the substitution of Mikel Alonso.

Big money signing Alvaro Morata benefited from Moses’s strong showing as he was twice picked out by the Nigerian although not anywhere close to where he could wreck havoc.
