Highly rated former Kano Pillars midfielder Ifeanyi Matthew is closely being watched by Belgium super powerhouse Club Brugge, owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Sources have revealed to this portal that Lillestroem are aware of the interest of Club Brugge in the services of the 20 year old former Nigeria youth international, who also trained with the senior national team of Nigeria before their game against Egypt in their failed attempt to qualify for the last edition of the African Cup of Nations.
A bid is yet to be lodged by the Belgian side for his services, but their scouts are keeping a close watch on Matthew who made 17 appearances for Lillestroem in the first round of the Norwegian season which ended on the 15th of July.
Since joining Lillestroem midway through last season, the midfielder has grown into a very influential player at the club, with strong performances even when he was played as a right full back.
The box to box midfielder is widely regarded as one of the finest midfielder in the first round of the Norwegian league, a tag he also enjoyed in Nigeria during stints with El-Kanemi Warriors and later Kano Pillars.
