The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has revealed why he will prosecute the upcoming World Cup 2018 Qualifiers against Cameroon with mostly foreign based players.

Nigeria will take on Cameroon in back to back games in the race to be at the World Cup 2018 in Russia, with Nigeria leading group B with six points, four more than second placed Cameroon.

The home based team are however going to be in action earlier as they will take on Benin Republic in consecutive qualifiers games in the race to be at the next CHAN Championship, but the chances of any of them making the squad for the Cameroon game is slim according to Rohr.

Rohr who is currently in Kano monitoring home based players says the difference in the competition the foreign based players are involved in gives them an edge over their home based players.

” The door is open to the Super Eagles, but we need committed and disciplined players. To be honest it won’t be easy for the players based in Nigeria to make the team now because the Europe based players have had good preparation and they have a slight advantage because the standard in Europe is way higher than what we have here” Rohr said in Kano.
