The captain of the Nigeria U17 team that failed to qualify for the defence of the title Nigeria won in 2015 is in Norway for training and test games with Lillestroem, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
17 year old Igho Ogbu arrived Norway yesterday and had his first training session with the team earlier today as he begins the road to penning a deal with the team.
However he can only be signed on a pre contract arrangement as he won’t clock 18 until next year, when if all goes according to plan he will sign a professional contract with the team.
His capture by the Norwegian side will no doubt infuriate Polish side Legia Warsaw who had the player on trail in March, and were willing to make their move for him when he turns 18.
Lillestroem view the Nigerian who can play as a defensive midfielder or central defender as a future prospect who can develop into a big money player in the nearest future.
Already he has played over 12 top flight league games in Nigeria for struggling Gombe United, and he even played in their last weekend game against Shooting Stars before arriving in Abuja from where he flew to Norway.
