The agent of Super Eagles vice captain Ogenyi Onazi has refused to confirm or deny reports in the Turkish press about his client possible move to English Championship side Birmingham City.
Turkish TV was among several outlets in Turkey that confirmed the transfer of the Nigerian to the Harry Redknapp tutored Championship side, and his agent didn’t say anything to the contrary when he was asked by our correspondent.
” I can not tell you anything this time around, but it’s clear we have been approached by some clubs based in England and outside England. For now nothing is definite “, Stephen Makinwa told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” If Onazi is leaving Trabzonspor, you will know from the selling club as well as the club buying him. For now I don’t and can’t tell you anything in that regard”.
Onazi almost terminated his contract with the Turkish outfit last month following a row over breach of contract, but it was settled amicable between him and the club although some sources maintained the tension remained.
His transfer is reportedly in the region of £4m as Birmingham manager Redknapp looks to bolster his options in midfield to help the club in their quest to gain promotion to the English Premier League next season.
