HNK Rijeka Nigerian forward Theophilus Solomon has agreed a one year loan deal to Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
21 year old Solomon was supposed to join Belgium side Gent but Rijeka’s attitude during negotiations made the Belgium club pull out of talks to loan the forward for one year.
Fellow Belgium side Lokeren were the first team to have agreed a deal for the forward but according to our sources, the offer from Gent made him pull out of an already agreed swap deal involving Mario Ticinovic moving to Rijeka.
Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that a deal for the forward to join the Serbian giants was agreed last night, and he is expected to fly to Serbia tomorrow to seal the switch.
” He will spend a year on loan with Partizan Belgrade, but they have the option of signing him on a permanent three years deal at the end of his loan deal”, Solomon’s guardian Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman said in Kaduna.
Champions of Serbia, Partizan Belgrade are campaigning in the Europa League after losing out to Greek side Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
Overall the club has won a total of 42 trophies which includes 27 national championships, 14 national cup and the now defunct Mitropa Cup contested by teams from Central Europe.
