Chelsea Legend Ivanovic Speaks On Striker Who Wants To Play For Nigeria Ahead Of Belgium

Former Chelsea fans favourite Branislav Ivanovic has warned his Zenith St. Petersburg ‎team-mates to be wary of Belgian-Nigerian striker Cyril Dessers when they take on Utrecht in the Europa League.

Dessers got off to a flying start by netting a brace on his league debut for Utrecht last weekend, and Ivanovic reckons he is one of the players they are aware of ahead of their Thursday clash.

The 22 year old has been tipped to end up as one of the top scorers in the Dutch League this season. A form which could trigger a tug of war for his international future between Nigeria and Belgium, although he has said he wish to play for the former.

” We know it’s going to be hard because Utrecht has a very strong attack, with someone like Dessers. We are aware of his threat”, he said in the pre match conference.

” However, Utrecht have a very strong team, we have seen lot of videos about them, but we must be able to match the famous Dutch football. Our 5-1 win over Spartak Moscow for example have given us confident that we will get a good result”, he said.
