The B team of the senior national team of Nigeria defeated Nigeria Professional Football League side Kano Pillars 1-0 in a friendly game decided at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
MFM FC forward Stephen Odey scored the lone goal of the game in the 25th minute of the game meant to prepare the team for their return leg tie against Benin Republic on Saturday in Kano.
CHAN Eagles as they are fondly called trail Benin Republic by a lone goal in the first leg in the road to qualify for the 2018 CHAN Championship which will be hosted by Kenya.
Kano Pillars and the Nigerian team ended the game with ten players each following a red card issued to a Kano Pillars player and that of the home based Eagles after a confrontation on the pitch.
During the course of the game Ibrahim Alhassan popularly referred to as Mu’azam was outstanding with his midfield combination with Kano Pillars captain Rabiu Ali catching the eyes in the game.
