Out of favour Nigerian forward Isaac Success showed his class for Watford in their 2-3 loss to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup in what was his first competitive game for the team this season.
Success was introduced by coach Marco Silva in the second half and the Nigerian immediately sparked Watford to life as he added pace, penetration and force to their attack which he capped with an assist for their second goal.
His well delivered cross was headed onto the bar by Richarlson in the 69th minute , before his well hit drive sailed wide off the goal of Bristol City in the 72nd minute as Watford push for a leveler.
Five minutes to the end of regulation time Success delivered another delightful cross from the right after taking out his man with quick step overs but once again Richarlson headed wide with the goal at his mercy.
In the final minute of time added on Success finally got the assist his performance deserve with Mariappa meeting his cross with a firm header , but the goal wasn’t enough as they crashed out 2-3 to the Championship side.
Speaking after the game Silva rated the performance of the Nigerian as one of the bright spot in what was a disappointing game for the Hornets.
