The agency handling the affairs of FC Midtjylland Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu has confirmed the interest of Werder Bremen in the forward who has taken the league in Denmark by storm in the last 12 months.
Reports from Germany has it that the forward is a target for the German Bundesliga side, a rumour which Owngoalnigeria.com sort to clarify from the agency representing the striker who stands at a height of over 2 metres.
The agency replied by confirming the interest but insist they are other clubs interested in the services of the 23 year old, who is nicknamed “Nigerian Peter Crouch ” due to his similar height as that of ex England international Peter Crouch.
” We are in talks with several clubs over Onuachu and Werder Bremen is one of them but for now an agreement is far from reached. He has a contract with Midtjylland till the summer of 2020.
” He has done well for himself so we are not surprise that he is hot in demand. But like I said there’s still along way to go”, a representative of the agency replied us.
Last season Onuachu found the back of the net 18 times from 29 games, a tally he is well on course to equal with four goals in his last four league games this season, but an operation for appendicitis has slowed him down.
One factor that is however working against his proposed transfer is the fee FC Midtjylland are demanding which is reportedly in excess of €10m.
