Nigeria youth international Kingsley Michael has resumed training with Serie A side Bologna officially teaming up with his childhood friend and national team pal Orji Okonkwo.
As first reported by this portal, the recently turned 18 year old was snapped up by the Serie A side last summer but had to remain in Nigeria until he reached the professional age of 18.
However he travelled to Italy earlier this year and trained with the Primavera side of the team before returning to Nigeria to process his next trip which was suppose to see him join the first team in pre season.
The Italian Embassy in Nigeria didn’t give him a visa due to his age, but he has been offered one already and he since teamed up with the team where he will spend time with their Primavera side before hopefully making the step up to the main team.
A member of the all conquering Nigeria U17 team of 2015, he will be hoping to follow in the foot steps of his fellow U17 teammate Okonkwo who made the step up to the first team after just three months at the club.
They were both part of the U20 team of Nigeria that failed to qualify for the African Youth Championship, with Michael’s absence in the large qualifying game against Sudan partly pointed out as the reason why they crashed out.
