Nigeria U23 left full back Stanley Amuzie has joined Swiss side FC Lugano from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria subject to the 21 year old passing a routine medical.
Amuzie re-joined the Serie A side last summer after distinguishing himself for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics where Nigeria won bronze with Amuzie playing in almost of their games.
However he failed to progress to the first team of the Serie A side despite his stellar performances for the Primavera side during the course of the same season.
He will be hoping to get his European career underway in Switzerland after his not too impressive stint so far after playing just 13 games for second division Portuguese side Olhanense.
Known for his calmness on the ball and abilities to join the attack, the lanky full back has two senior caps for Nigeria, both coming in the ill fated back to back AFCON 2016 qualifiers tie against Egypt.
