England youth international Ola Aina is keen to make his debut for the senior national team of Nigeria when they take on Cameroon in the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers on Friday.
Aina has settled down nicely with the players, most of which he is meeting for the first time although he trained with some of them in London during the Super Eagles training camp early this year.
The Chelsea defender who is on loan to Hull City is still waiting to get the official go ahead from FIFA to play for Nigeria against Cameroon, as his application to switch allegiance from England to Nigeria is yet to be ratified by the players committee of FIFA.
He is mostly seen around his Chelsea teammate Victor Moses during trainings and even back in their hotel, although he is presently in the same room with Kelechi Iheanacho in the absence of Iheanacho’s regular room-mate Alex Iwobi.
His initiation also went as plan as the defender who is comfortable as a left full back or right full back proved his knowledge of Nigerian song by rendering Timaya’s street song Malonogede, much to the surprise but delight of his team-mates.
