Zambia are planning to hold a training camp in Europe ahead of their upcoming World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie against Nigeria in Uyo.
The Chipolopolo gave themselves a strong chance of overhauling group leaders Nigeria after beating Algeria 1-0 away in Algiers, and they are not leaving any stone unturned in their bid to beat Nigeria in Uyo next month.
Coach of the Zambian team Wedson Nyirenda revealed part of their plans for the game against Nigeria, same team that defeated them in Ndola 1-2 in the reverse tie will be a camp in Europe.
“We have been talking to the Football Association of Zambia [FAZ] and they are also interested in camping the team outside the country and if that comes it will be a bonus to the players,” Nyirenda said upon arrival in Zambia from Algeria.
Speaking in same vein Andrew Kamanga who is the president of the Football Association in Zambia said it will be wise for the players to train in Europe ahead of the October 7th game in Uyo, as most of them are based in Europe.
“As you know some of the players are already in Europe, they didn’t come with us they have already gone back and we may see it fit to camp the team abroad so that it is easier to prepare the team adequately,” Kamanga said.
