Ubong Ekpai Turning Heads In Czech Republic, Scores Again For Zilin

Former Akwa United and Nigeria U23 forward Ubong Ekpai scored his third goal in seven games despite his team Zilin crashing to a 1-2 loss to Czech Republic league giants Viktoria Plzen.

Ekpai who moved to the Czech side from fellow Czech Republic outfit Slovan Liberec struck his team’s only goal of the game two minutes before the half time break to pull a goal back for his team, who were already two goals down before his goal.

The goal was his third goal of the season from seven league games this season, one short of his last season tally of four goals from 16 league games for Slovan Liberec where he spent last season on loan from Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.

Maccabi Haifa traded him off to Zilin this summer in a deal reportedly worth €350,000 with the 21 year old penning a three year deal which will run out in the summer of 2020.
