Former Enugu Rangers goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel has upstaged other goalkeepers at his present club Orlando Pirates to become the second choice goalkeeper of the Premier South Africa League side .
Daniel who kept goal for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics joined the team last season shortly after helping Enugu Rangers lift the Nigeria Professional Football League crown, and also training with the senior national team of Nigeria.
He failed to make his debut last season due to work permit and registration issues but he has since made steady progress at the club , and sat on the bench in their 1-0 win over Cape Town City FC.
His performance for the Reserve team of Pirates over the weekend against Bloemfontein Celtic in the NBC league earned him the step up from third choice to potentially first choice.
Still viewed by many as the future first choice goalkeeper of the senior national team of Nigeria , he will be hoping to get some first team games to help him fulfill the potential that made many tout him as a future star for Nigeria between the sticks.
