Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has been invited by coach of the senior Nigeria national team Gernot Rohr ahead of their crucial World Cup 2018 Qualifiers clash against Zambia in Uyo on the 7th of October.
Iwobi who scored one of the goals in the reverse tie in Ndola where Nigeria triumphed 2-1 missed out in their last games, which was the back to back clash against Cameroon.
Injury was cited as the reason why he didn’t make the squad for the games against Cameroon, and after returning to full fitness he has been invited by coach Rohr for the Zambia Clash where Nigeria need a win to seal a ticket to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Still on the list which will be made official next week, CSKA Moscow forward Aaron Samuel has been axed completely from the list, with Watford ace Isacc Success taking his spot in the list of players placed on standby.
Rohr is a big admirer of the abilities of Success, but left the forward out of the squad for their last set of games as he wasn’t getting games at Watford, but off late he has played in some games.
Success has also not impressed the coach with his body mass, which usually forces the coach to place him on special drills whenever he is in the camp of the Nigeria national team.
